| TYPES OF WIRE WOUND RESISTORS : |
Silicone Coated Resistors : Silicone Coated Resistors have excellent life stability and high moisture resistance. They are recommended for industrial and professional electronic equipments, where stability, low temperature coefficient, close tolerances and low surface temperatures are desired. They are available in wattage range from 50 Watt to 500 Watt ; In Ohmic Range from 1 Ohm to 20 K Ohm.

Open Winding Wire Wound Resistors : These are Low Ohmic - High Current Resistors used for continuous and short term duty applications.
These types of open elements can take considerably more overload than Silicone Coated Resistors and they also cool much quicker as each turn of the wire is exposed to the cool ambient air. Heavy duty allows high ratings for intermittent duty applications such as dynamic braking or motor starting etc.

| Two Types of construction are normally used :- |

LESQ Resistors: In this type of construction, resistance wire is wound on grooved & square shaped porcelain tube for better heat dissipation.
LECC Resistors: These Wire Wound Resistors feature an open helical wire element (made from Nichrome, Ferrous Chrome Alloy or Stainless Steel wires), wound around a grooved porcelain tube.
